Admission Procedures

We select pupils for entry to Dover College through a rounded process including interview, a report from previous and/or current school and academic assessment.

The following examinations are used:

  • The 11 plus Examination

taken between the ages of 10 and 11.  The 11+ test is sat in mid-September in Kent.  Dover College’s 11+ scholarship trials take place in the November preceding the year of entry. To find out more about the Scholarship Trials, have a look at this page: scholarship trials

  • The Common Entrance Examination

from Preparatory Schools, taken normally at the age of 13 in June of each year.

  • The GCSE Examinations

pupils having studied GCSEs abroad or in the UK can apply for places into the Sixth Form.
