Introduction
Helping the community has always played a large part in the ethos of Dover College. The various articles set out to highlight the large range and number of activities that happen through Dover College which do significantly benefit the public and the local community.
The wide range of what we do at Dover College is a great tribute to the dedication and effort of large numbers of the teachers and staff and all would hope that this public spirit continues to flourish here.
Maintenance of Historic buildings
Dover College is fortunate to be located on the remains of the medieval Priory of St Martin, Dover, and thus has many fine buildings, some dating back to 1132. The school site is part of a conservation area (the Dover College Conservation Area) and is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
Fundraising and work for Charities
Each year, Dover College adopts a particular Charity to be the focus for the year's fundraising efforts. All major fundraising activity raises funds for the selected charity, but occasionally other charities are considered during the year for one-off special events.
