Bursaries - who are they for?
Highly deserving candidates for Year 7 whose parents are unable to pay the full fees may be awarded a means tested bursary.
Bursaries are awarded on the basis of need and the availability of funds. The majority of these funds come from the College’s income, from which all operating costs are found.
Parents who run into unanticipated financial difficulty should apply to the Bursar for assistance, which will also be subject to means testing.
Armed Forces and FCO
Members of Her Majesty's Armed Forces and Foreign and Commonwealth Office who are eligible for the Government Boarding School Allowance (Continuity of Education) pay a parental contribution of 10% of the full boarding fee.
Siblings
Dover College offers Bursaries for families with two or more children in the school.
The first sibling gets an automatic 10% off the fees.
Application for Bursaries
Parents need to address an initial financial assistance request letter to the Bursar at the time of sending the Registration Form to the Admissions Officer.
Means Test packs will be sent out and should be returned to the Bursar marked ‘Private and Confidential’. Completion of a Means Test is no guarantee of an award, which will be judged according to need and a combination of household income and assets.
