The basic aim of The Friends of Dover College is to raise funds for items for the benefit of our pupils. These items are often seen as desirable, rather than essential and these are often referred to as ‘the icing on the cake’ and we try to fund a variety of projects each year.

Items recently purchased or in the pipeline include: a DVD recording and duplicating system, a new set of hymn books for the Chapel, equipment for the Music Department, items for the Choir, a tea urn for The Friends events along with a notice board, a tennis ball machine, votive candle stand for use by pupils in the Chapel, benches and planters, playground equipment, a storage shed and trophy cabinet for the Infant and Junior Department.

The Friends organise several social functions each year and these are friendly and relaxed occasions where an enjoyable evening is combined with raising money. The social events have included a Race Night, Wine and Wisdom evenings with a curry supper, and a Christmas and Summer Fair. The Friends also organise and run a Summer Ball every other year. The Friends provide refreshments for plays, organises an Easter Egg Raffle, Gift Wrap sale and cash prizes for The Talent Show and pays for the Christmas Tree in the Refectory.
