Dover College GCSE results break records

Dover College's day and boarding pupils achieved record grades in GCSEs with 100% pass rate in the following subjects: Art, Science, Business and Communication Systems, Double Science, Drama, French, Geography, Spanish and Textiles, PE. The overall 87% pass rate is remarkable for a non selective school such as Dover College, clearly adding value to those pupils who would have been expected to obtain a lot less in the state sector.

Dover College's Headmaster, Stephen Jones commented: “this is a record set of GCSE results for Dover College. These young people have worked hard and gaining these grades reinforces the all-rounded education they receive at Dover College. Our aim is to make confident individuals who will then be able to face the world beyond school.”

Great A level results 2010 are in

A great set of A level results for a non-selective school such as Dover College. With a 74% A-C results university offers should be rolling in!

The Headmaster, Stephen Jones commented:

“We are delighted with our 100% pass rate but it has to be noted that the 74% A to C result is excellent for a non-selective school such as Dover College. Added to this a 49% A to B means that the hard work put in by both the pupils and the teaching body has been incredible. Well done all!”

Dover College Cake Master gets a Gold Star

Mr Ellerington's Cakes.JPG
An entire book shelf of cake books.
Dover College's Director of Studies, Mr Ellerington, showed he had hidden talents. The Infant and Junior School teachers at Dover College were all given a personalised iced sponge cake which led the Head, Mrs Miller, to award a special Gold Star in the weekly Chapel Assembly.

It seems, the Ellerington familly had a rather busy weekend baking and decorating all the cakes, before assembling them to resemble a book shelf. I am sure you will agree when looking at the picture that the Gold Star was indeed well deserved!
