Dover College is clearly meeting its aims

Dover College is clearly meeting its aims of educating the whole child and providing a broad and balanced curricular and extra curricular programme with high academic expectations according to an inspection report publicly available on the internet.

A team of seven inspectors from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) visited the school for a week in February of this year and came to the conclusion that “pupils are provided with a broad range of educational opportunities and grow up to be well rounded individuals whose spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is good”.

The report also notes that “the quality of pastoral care is outstanding” and that “a particular strength is the school's careful nurturing of all pupils by dedicated staff who know their pupils well and often provide extra teaching and support out of hours, going beyond what might normally be expected”.

The Headmaster, Mr Stephen Jones, said “we are very pleased indeed with the report; it is gratifying to see that the hard work of all in our community - the pupils and the staff as well as the parents and the Governors - has been recognised and written about in such glowing terms”.

The full report is available soon on the ISI website http://www.isi.net/ or by clicking here.
