U13 Rugby - Dover College v Gads Hill School

On Monday 22nd September Dover College played an 8 aside U13 Rugby match against Gads Hill School. Dover College received the kick off and immediately went on the offensive, Dan Eades caught the ball deep in Dover College's half, ran through two tackles and ran around another two players to score in the corner. Tyrell Mitford kicked off and followed up the kick with a superb tackle on the Gads Hill receiver, forcing a knock-on by Gads Hill which led to a Dover College scrum. Some superb scrimmaging by Liam Deverson and Andreas Efstratiou allowed Dover College to win the scrum and a superb pass to Dan Eades by Corrie Murdock allowed him to score another try. Dover then proceeded to dominate the game with some superb tackles which led to another knock-on by Gads Hill and another scrum to Dover College. The scrum was lost but a superb covering tackle from Joshua Caskie led to an open ball where Andreas stepped over the player picking-up the ball and passing it on to Tyrell Mitford who off loaded it to Dan Eades to score his third try.

The start of the second half saw Gads Hill make some changes which led to some superb passing. This allowed Gads Hill to score three tries. Gads Hill took a restart straight from the arms of Dan Eades who used exceptional pace and skill to run round two players and score his fourth try. The sides battled out the remaining ten minutes and some superb tackling by David Herrington allowed us to have control of the ball just inside Gads Hill's half. A penalty was awarded and taken early by Dover College. The ball was run through to within ten metres of the try line.  An excellent tackle by Gads Hill caused the Dover College player to knock the ball on. The referee awarded a scrum to Gads Hill which was won against the head. This allowed Cori Murdock to pick the ball up and go down the blind side to score a try. The final result being a win to Dover College 25-20. This was an excellent result for Dover College and praise should be given to all the boys.
