A broad curriculum with extra activities
Daily extra activities help our Infants and Juniors to develop skills for the future.
Your child will be given every encouragement to participate in a broad range of activities and sports throughout the year.
Pupils study all the National Curriculum subjects with a strong emphasis on English and Maths. We believe in the importance of physical fitness, good health and fair competition.
What better feeling is there than seeing your child perform in one of the School Drama productions? Not only enjoyable, this part of the curriculum, like others, helps build your child's self-confidence.
Drama and Music
Drama and Music play an important part in our curriculum, developing confidence and raising self-esteem. In between the usual major end of term concerts we hold regular small informal musical concerts. These intimate events build the children's confidence to perform and provide parents with the opportunity to see their little ones show their skills.

Specialist teachers and extensive facilities
Dover College's Infant and Junior Department benefits from having access to the Senior School's facilities and teachers.
French and Music are both taught by specialists, ensuring the children learn in a pleasant, yet highly productive, environment.
We make selective use of the excellent facilities of the Senior School such as ICT Centre and sports facilities are shared.
Subject setting
Junior pupils from Year 3 are organised in sets for the teaching of Maths and English, providing pupils with targeted and individual teaching appropriate to their level of ability.
Foundation subjects are taught in the main by form tutors with members of staff teaching specialist areas such as Art and ICT.
