PREP SCHOOL SPORTS ROUND UP – WEEK 4 & 5

4th October 19

Wednesday, 2ndOctober – U11 Spring Grove Tournament

On Wednesday 2ndOctober 2019 Dover Prep School played a tournament at Spring Grove. Kick off was at 1.30pm and our first match was against St Ronan’s. We started off well with Joe scoring 2 goals in the first half and then Sacha scored another 1 in the second half. The score was 3-0 to us at full time.

Then we played New Beacon. We started well with some great passes but no one scored in the first half and again in the second half no one scored, resulting in 0-0 result.

The we played against Wellesley House. We started off well with some great defending and passing. Joe scored 1 but unfortunately they managed to score 2 in the first half. In the second half Shiven scored another goal but they then scored another 2. End of the match 4-2 to Wellesley House.

Then we played against Spring Grove A team. We started off well with Joe scoring 2 goals in the first half and then another 1 in the second half. End of the match 3-0 to us.

Then we played Ashford Prep in the semi-finals. Starting well with some excellent passing by everyone leading to Joe scoring 1 goal in the first half however, they scored 2 goals and the match ended with a win for Ashford Prep.

Dover College Prep came 3rdin the tournament. Well done boys. Man of the match everyone for playing really well and trying their best.

 

Thursday, 3rdOctober – U9 Spring Grove Tournament

The U9’s played a tournament at Spring Grove. We started off with some good passes by Bella T. Unfortunately, they got around us and scored 3, the final score was 3-0 to Ashford Prep. The next game was against St Ronan’s, again some excellent passes by Bella D and Josh. Humphrey was amazing at running back and making tackles. Good determination by the whole team led to 4 goals. We slowed the ball down and they scored but the final score was 4-1 to us!

The next game was against Lorenden and we made some amazing attacks which led to 3 goals. With a few minutes to play they scored but the final score was 3-1 to us. We went on to play against Wellesley House in the quarter finals. We had kick off but they got an early goal. Oliver made some amazing saves. I missed a one on one with keeper but then they kept giving us the ball and so Cooper crossed the ball into the box and we scored 3, the final score was 3-1 to us and we were through to the semi-finals against Junior Kings.

Junior Kings’ got 2 early goals and we passed round and got 1 goal back so it was all to play for. We got a corner and Josh crossed it in and I scored but unfortunately it was disallowed because of a handball. The final score was 2-1 to them.

Friday, 27thSeptember – U9 v St Edmunds, Canterbury

On Friday, 27thSeptember we played a match against St Edmund’s. We started fast against St Edmunds with some excellent passing by Huey and Cooper but unfortunately we lost the ball. Dylan was in goal and made an excellent save. There were some excellent tackles by Oliver but unfortunately they scored a goal.

During the second half we played well but they managed to score again. Through some excellent play we managed to score 2 goals of our own. Final score 5-2 to them. Man of the match, Oliver.
