Developing last week’s interest, this week the Pre-Prep and Muddy Knees pupils have been exploring ‘The Gingerbread Man’. Pupils came together to listen to the story before using their creative skills to make character masks representing the characters in the story.
Using their mathematical skills to measure the ingredients to make gingerbread people however, the Muddy Knees pupils were very disappointed when they discovered that they had escaped. They searched high and low before using their detective skills, following a trail of crumbs all the way to Mrs Mills office!!!
The Pre-Prep pupils discovered that their gingerbread people had made it all the way across to the other side of school and had checked into the Bug Hotel! Once found the children were asked to make a bridge so the gingerbread people could cross over the ‘mud swamp’ safely. Children worked together to build the bridge and get everyone to safely across.
The Pre-Prep children also made their own gingerbread dampers over the fire which were delicious!
The week ahead looks to be another busy one especially as we begin to rehearse for our Christmas Nativity production – it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
