A VIEW FROM THE CLOSE: 5th JUNE 2020

5th June 20

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope that this finds you well. Please find below this week’s View from the Close; I’m delighted to announce within it the Heads of School for the Prep and Senior School, and also the Prefects, for this coming Academic Year.
Monday sees the opening of the Prep School for a number of Prep Six Pupils. Other parents have been emailed by Mrs Mills directly, as have parents of those in the Fourth Form and the Lower Sixth. Mrs Butt is overseeing the Fourth Form details and should there be any issues, please get in touch with her directly.
The management team reads and tries to interpret the near daily guidance being given to us about re-opening, and should anything change we will let parents know immediately. Much of our time is currently being spent planning for various scenarios for September. Regarding our boarders, we will be opening the school two weeks prior to the start of term to enable overseas pupils to isolate upon arrival in the UK. We want to provide as normal an experience as possible for the pupils but bear with us as we plan and react to guidance. We will keep parents informed at all times, but in many circumstances we know no more than you through what is reported in the press.
The below document celebrates so much about what is happening in the school this last week. I was particularly moved by the poetry, and hope that you enjoy it. We will be in touch with parents regarding the invitation to Prize Day, and more details will be sent at the start of next week about evening Zoom calls for Year Groups with Simon Fisher, my successor here from September. He’s very much looking forward to getting to know you and your children.
