There was much to celebrate at Dover College on Thursday, as pupils received their A Level and BTEC results.
40% of A Level results were graded at A*-A, well above the national average of 27.6%, with a 100% pass rate achieved. The most commonly awarded grade to Dover College pupils was A.
Pupils were delighted to have the chance to celebrate their results with outgoing Headmaster, Gareth Doodes, who travelled back to Dover to be present. Mr Doodes praised the pupils on their achievements. “This cohort of Upper Sixth leavers has been exceptional. I am extremely proud of their achievements and resilience. I wish them all every future success.”
Top performers included Summer who achieved A* A* A*, Dillon with A* A A and Yuan with A A A. Whilst this highlights the very highest achieving students in terms of grades, we are very proud of all our pupils’ achievements and hard work over the last two years, especially given the extraordinary disruption that affected their final year of school.
Pupils leave the College to take up places at institutions such as King’s College London, Warwick, Edinburgh, Leeds, Staffordshire, East London, Winchester, Liverpool Hope and the University of Creative Arts. They will be studying a variety of courses, including Business Management and Marketing, Maths, European Studies, International Development, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical studies, Esports, Public Relations and Journalism and Psychology.
We wish this year’s cohort every success in the next stage of their lives.
