projects for this year

House Identity

Driven by the Heads of School and Heads of House, our pupil body are eager to restore a strong sense of House identity during this period of restricted access. Each House now has a crest, and this project would fund hanging flag banners in the Refectory, a House Points board in the Cloisters and flags and other branded goods for House common rooms.

refectory furniture

The existing tables and benches lack flexibility and make social distancing more challenging. This project would fund replacement tables and chairs sympathetic to the style of the room, as well as storage trolleys so that the space can be cleared for use for other purposes.

outdoor furniture for the close

During this period of social distancing and the need for strong respiratory hygiene, pupils are being encouraged to spend as much time as possible outside. This project would fund the provision of wooden benches on The Close, which could include an engraving to acknowledge those who have donated.

music studio

Gathering for concerts and recitals is not possible at this time, so the provision of virtual events is the next best thing. This project would fund recording and mixing equipment to allow pupils to capture and broadcast performances to the community.

The 150 bursary
fund

Our goal

To raise £37,000 to support a Sixth Form Day pupil for their two years at Dover College. This covers school fees, plus 10% to cover essential extras including uniform, books and trips. The place would be for a talented local child, whose family would not otherwise have the means to access a Dover College education.

why donate?

Collective giving is extremely powerful. The 150 Bursary Fund provides an accessible and affordable way for you to donate a small amount regularly to make the difference to a deserving child’s education.

who can donate?

Anyone! This is an opportunity for Old Dovorians, parents and friends to join forces to offer a life-changing opportunity to a deserving young person.
