Dover College is home to a significant number of international students from over 15 different countries all fully integrated into our caring, family-type environment where kindness and thought for others is key. A traditionally English education with an international outlook our pupils learn valuable skills enable them to thrive and become confident global citizens.
With under 400 pupils across the College everyone is an individual. We have an exceptional International Study Centre, which focusses on teaching pupils English whilst they are integrated fully into day-to-day lessons. No pupil will be taught in classes bigger than 15 pupils which we believe makes an enormous difference to a child’s education.
We have a creative curriculum and flexible academic provision that, unlike other schools, focusses on encouraging pupils to think differently through discussion and debate. Whilst academic excellence is important to us, so too is talent in other areas such as art, performing arts and sport. Pupils are encouraged by our experienced teachers to achieve their full potential in all fields.

In addition to full GCSE and A Level courses for international pupils, we offer a three year A Level course and a one-year Fifth Form course leading to IGCSE.
All pupils who have EAL lessons take Cambridge International Exams (CIE). During the year they prepare for the international KET, PET and First Certificate qualifications which they sit in the summer.
In the Fifth Form, pupils take IGCSE in English as a Second Language (ESOL).
In the Upper Sixth, pupils study for the IELTS exam which is required for entry into a UK university and is an internationally recognised qualification showing a level of proficiency in English. They attend extra Saturday sessions to help prepare them for this difficult exam.
During the year pupils are also regularly tested within the ISC and goals are set to help them progress quickly in English. Overseas pupils also have the opportunity to attend lessons in their own language after school to prepare them for external exams such as IGCSE and A Level in those languages.
If you wish to apply for a place, you should complete the application form and send this with the registration fee and other supporting documents to the College by email to email@example.com or by post to the address on the form.
Once all the relevant registration forms have been received, pupils may be asked to sit relevant assessments or tests at the college and attend an interview, either in person or by SKYPE.
In addition to the information gathered during the application, upon arrival each international pupil’s English is tested before an individual programme of studies can be put in place. Pupils are integrated immediately into regular lessons whilst being given both one-to-one and class based EAL lessons.
