2. Art Awards

These awards are reserved for pupils who show exceptional artistic promise. This does not include performance. Candidates can be assessed at 11+, 13+ or 16+. Candidates will be asked to bring to Dover College a portfolio of their work and this will form the basis of an interview with the Head of Department.

3. Music Awards

These awards are reserved for pupils who show considerable musical promise. Candidates can be assessed at 11+, 13+ or 16+ and will be examined in general musical knowledge and performance (instrumental and or vocal).

4. Sports Awards

These awards are for pupils who show exceptional sporting promise. A comprehensive scholarship selection day including a fitness test, skills assessment and interview with Sports Department staff will take place. Candidates can be assessed at 11+, 13+ or 16+

5. All Rounder Award

This type of scholarship is awarded when a candidate shows promise in at least two of the above awards.

Notes:

Scholarships will normally be awarded as lump sums of money to be deducted from the full school fee. The value of scholarship awards will depend upon the quality of the candidate.

All scholarship examinations normally take place at Dover College, where accommodation can be provided.

Once an award winner has entered the school, his/her performances will be reviewed at the end of each academic year and the tenure of any award may be terminated, or the value reduced, if in the Headmaster’s opinion the holders industry or conduct has been unsatisfactory.

Pupils who are already at Dover College may be assessed for a scholarship in accordance with the details given above at 11+, 13+ and 16+.
