Just because a pupil or member of staff has left Dover College doesn’t mean that they are no longer part of the Dover College community. As such, in September 2016 the College’s Alumni Office was created and Mr Mike Vanderhoeven, a former teacher at the College and Housemaster, was appointed as the first Head of Alumni Relations.

The Alumni office’s key role is to bring together former pupils, members of staff and parents into a community where news of the College’s progress and development can be shared and celebrated. Old Dovorians may also get involved by offering work experience placements, careers advice or their time in giving talks on a variety of subject areas.

The Alumni office works closely with the College to provide a range of events enabling former pupils to visit the College whether to attend plays and concerts, reunion events or provide support to current pupils. In addition, the Alumni office produces a termly publication, Close Encounters, that is sent to all alumni.
