Eco Explorers gives every child in our Prep School the opportunity to learn outdoors, explore the world around them and develop a genuine understanding of how we can care for our environment.
From Nursery through to Prep 6, children take part in regular hands-on experiences that bring learning to life. Our beautiful school grounds, gardens and local coastline become an extension of the classroom, providing endless opportunities to investigate, discover and ask questions.
Eco Explorers is about more than learning about the environment. It is about experiencing it.
Our youngest children begin by developing a sense of wonder and curiosity about the natural world. Through nature walks, gardening, seasonal activities, collecting natural materials and caring for our school environment, our EYFS children begin to understand that they are part of a much bigger world.
As children progress through the Prep School, their learning develops. They explore weather, seasons, plants, animals, habitats, recycling, sustainability and ecosystems, gradually building a deeper understanding of how the natural world works and how human activity can affect it.
Our Prep 6 pupils take part in increasingly challenging fieldwork and environmental projects, through the Hope Farm curriculum each week developing skills in observation, investigation, mapping, data collection and problem-solving. Mixing with years 7 & 8 is a wonderful opportunity to experience life in the senior school.
From our school grounds to the coast, our location provides a fantastic opportunity for children to explore a wide range of environments.
