Nursery

Dover College Nursery

Set within beautiful grounds, our Nursery and Forest School offers a spacious and stimulating environment for children from aged three.

Firmly embedded within the whole school community, our Nursery benefits from a full range of outstanding facilities. Early Years children share a delicious, nutritious, home cooked meal served in the Refectory each day alongside the rest of the Prep School children, where pupils and teachers sit together as a family.

Our meticulous Early Years staff are dedicated to the development of each child. Tailored activities capture the imagination of the children whilst ensuring progression and a pathway to school readiness. Each child’s learning journey is crafted through careful delivery of adult-led activities, which extend children’s interests. Daily letters and sounds and maths challenges place a strong emphasis upon the development of key skills within an intimate learning environment, all the while ensuring that children’s creative opportunities are both plentiful and augmented wherever possible.

Children enjoy the freedom to explore and discover their environment, which is reinforced through our Forest School accreditation. Outdoor suits and wellington boots are essential for pupils in our Nursery as we make full use of our extensive outside space – adventures are commonplace, come rain or shine! Outdoor sessions engage our pupils in active learning opportunities proven to increase vocabulary, build greater self-awareness and promote empathy. Our aim is to facilitate freethinking, motivated individuals who are keen to meet the challenges of life.

Passionate and dedicated, we believe vehemently that every child deserves to feel happy, safe, confident and valued. We consistently surpass the ordinary; we think differently!
