We understand that this is an incredibly unsettling time for pupils and families at St Lawrence. At Dover College, we are ready to provide a smooth, supportive and reassuring transition, helping children continue their education with care, stability and as little disruption as possible.
For pupils currently studying GCSEs and A Levels, we can offer full alignment with exam boards across core subjects, as well as across humanities, the Arts, Sport and Business Studies. Our aim is simple: to help every pupil stay on track with their learning, their confidence and their future plans.
We will honour bursaries, scholarships and discounts for the Summer Term and for the 2026-27 academic year.
We will also provide a free daily bus run to Ramsgate throughout the Summer Term.
To help make that transition as positive and settled as possible, we will also welcome pupils to Dover College on Monday, 20 April, when the school has an INSET day, for a transition opportunity ahead of the start of term.
A starter uniform pack will be provided free of charge and pupils will also be able to continue wearing elements of their existing uniform during the transition.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Will there be transport from Ramsgate? Yes. We will run a bus from Ramsgate to Dover with convenient stops along the route, for all pupils from Reception through to Senior School. Please do get in touch to discuss the details. It is also worth knowing that Dover Priory railway station is right next to the school, so there is no extra travel time through town.
Will courses match what my child is already studying? We understand how important it is that your child’s learning is not set back. We can provide close alignment with current St Lawrence courses, and our curriculum is tailored to support pupils in every year group to continue their GCSE and A Level journey without losing ground. We want every pupil to keep studying the subjects they love, and any progress or achievements already made will be recognised and carried forward.
Can my child join after Easter? Yes. We are ready to welcome pupils straight after the Easter holidays. There will be a transition afternoon on Monday 20th April, with lessons beginning on Tuesday 21st April. Pupils are warmly welcome to come on 20th April in their St Lawrence uniform, and we will provide a starter uniform pack.
How will Monday 20th April work, and what are the timings? New pupils are invited to join us between 14:00 and 16:20. The afternoon has been carefully planned to be both informative and reassuring. Pupils will be welcomed and guided by members of our Senior Leadership Team, who will share key information about academic life, pastoral care and the many activities on offer. There will also be a school tour led by current pupils, time with the Headmaster, and essential IT setup. Our aim is for every pupil to leave feeling settled, prepared and genuinely part of the Dover College community.
Will pupils joining in the Summer Term be able to take part in sailing? Yes, absolutely. Pupils joining this term will have the opportunity to learn to sail, proudly supported by one of our Trusts. Further details on sign-up will follow.
Where can I find your term dates? Our term dates can be found here & 2026/2027 can be found here.
Where can I find out more about governance? You can read more about our governing body here. Our governors bring a wide range of professional experience, including education, finance, marketing and law.
